It's nice that you mentioned the name of the game at least in brackets at the end of your post (assuming that you really talk about Oblivion). "Crashes upon startup" can mean probably a thousand or more different things.But as he says, be careful. Might corrupt a save file. Check your plugins in MO2, re-enable any plugins that might have been disabled, and sort your load order with LOOT. Never open the in-game mod manager in a modded game, don't even click on the option as it will routinely ruin the load order.
