You might increase the power out from 3.5 watts to 4 watts or the receiver sensitivty from 1 microvolt to 0.9 but you will NEVER notice any difference in the radio's performance.I ordered the McKinley with the peak/tune upgrade cause I just wanted a better general use CB for talking to local friends.
