Evidence of student learning
Evidence-based teaching involves the use of evidence to: (1) establish where students are in their learning; (2) decide on appropriate teaching strategies and interventions; and (3) monitor student progress and evaluate teaching effectiveness. The term 'evidence-based' is now firmly entrenched in the education lexicon.This include evidence of students’ perceptions about learning and perceptions from others about what students know. Examples include senior surveys, exit interviews, grades, graduate school admissions, teaching evaluations. In these cases, the evidence and the learning goal may not be directly aligned but is still indicative of some learning.
